The Final Plague
A downloadable game
The Apocalypse has come and gone, yet still you remain. A survivor of the Final Plague of Man. An undead apocalypse now ruled by necromancers.
You see, in the modern day, someone did something. Something so vile that everything that might be considered divine simply turned away from the Earth. Now souls have nowhere to go, and necromantic ability awakened in the population. What followed became known as the Final Plague.
Necromancers, gifted with magical power, through violence and corruption became the dominant force in the world. They are the warlords ruling over the rot and the ash of our civilization. At first, they did not fear the survivors, only rival necromancers, and undead wars were not uncommon in those early days. During one of these wars, the mortal survivors learned that necromancers, despite their power over life and death, were not invincible. One .50 cal probably won’t do the job. A half dozen did. You’ve heard the rumour enough times to believe it.
If you live long enough, you might get to test it.
Players will control a band of survivors as they venture out from bases into the undead-infested ruins of our civilization to get supplies, rescue survivors, find other bases and maybe even, if they survive long enough, kill a goddamned necromancer.
This game is based on the fast-paced, light, and lethal Into the Odd by Chris McDowall and as such bears the Mark of the Odd. It uses the mapping from Electric Bastionland and a variety of random generators from Bastionland.com. It also features a supply-based pseudo-economy, horror rules, mission systems for bases, and a philosophical exploration of the anatomy of a soul.
I hope you enjoy it, test it and tell me what works and what doesn't!
